Voluntary work

You will be part of one of our five households, where we live together with up to five handicapped adults   in the other human beings and a wholehearted contribution. 

During the week all co-workers and residents work in one or the other workshop or in one of the houses.  
Our main workshop consists of woodwork, weavery, bakery, farm, vegetable garden and candle  workshop. You will be placed according to the need in the different workshops, but we also respect  personal wishes if possible.  

One of the important aspects in our community life is the celebration of the christian festivals.  Our Saturday evenings we mark with a bibleevening and Sundays we celebrate with a special morning  assembly and sometimes with a service held by a visiting priest from the Christian Community.  

All new co-workers are accepted on a 12 months trial period. During this time the stay can be terminated  by the wish from either side.  If you are volonter you will receive free board and lodging.The journey to Staffansgården you have to pay  yourself. 

We have had problems with pet-animals several times the last years, and we have now decided  that new co-workers not are allowed to have animals during the first year here.  We have also had some problems with drugs, and use of drugs will not be accepted.  

As we have a fair amount of applications we first accept co-workers who wish to stay for a year or longer,   and especially those with a knowledge of the Swedish language.  Others are expected to take part in our Swedish classes.
